Bill to protect whistle blowers - the Star 30 Sept 2003 - 2 new laws in force next year will allow company officers, auditors and employees to blow the whistle on corrupt, dishonest and fraudulent corporeate activities without fear of reprisal. A new witness protection bill will also be passed. The bill would accord legal protection to whistle blowers as prosecution witness, preventing them from being sacked or having to face punitive action by their employers.Loyalty to employers should stop when public harm becomes an issue.
